Introduction
My name is Laurence and seven years ago I made a major career change - from running a successful online business to running a coffee shop. When I decided to change career and set up a coffee shop I did so with a firm knowledge of running a business but zero experience running a coffee shop.
It took at least three years of working in the industry to really gain the knowledge needed to run the business efficiently and to a 5 star standard, and I’m still finding ways to improve.
Starting the business with out experience, I wasted a lot of time and money making poor decisions on everything from equipment and suppliers to staff and even menus. Looking back, I wish I had someone to guide me through the tough times.
